Mark Jerrell currently serves as the Vice Chair on the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners representing District 4. Serving in his 3rd term, he is actively engaged in the community and is focused on efforts to support social justice, equity and improving the lives of all people in Mecklenburg County. His committee assignments include Intergovernmental Relations (Chair), Economic Development, Environmental Stewardship and Equity Investments committees.

Mark is committed to building bridges and breaking down barriers and ensuring that resources are accessible for our most vulnerable residents. Mark is passionate about issues related to education, affordable housing, access to social services, environmental justice, parks and open space, and ensuring that we have relevant programming for all residents. He is also focused on ensuring that small businesses, seniors, working families and students have the opportunity and resources needed to experience a high quality of life. Mark is a veteran, entrepreneur and holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and an MBA.
