Active Aging Classes

From Silver Sneakers to water aerobics, 24 Hour Fitness active aging group exercise classes are designed to help seniors and older adults maintain their cardiovascular health, strength and flexibility.

 

Whether you’re a veteran gym member or a newcomer, we welcome you to come enjoy the benefits of working out in a group. The availability of Silver Sneakers and other senior fitness classes varies by 24 Hour Fitness location. 

Mecklenburg County Senior Centers

Senior Centers provide individuals 55 years and older various opportunities to improve their physical and cognitive health, expand their support systems, and find services they need to remain independent.  

Exercise Opportunities:  Jazzercise Lite, Low- Impact Aerobics, Strength Training, Stretching Class, Tai Chi, Yoga, one-on-one exercise training, table tennis, line-dancing, Zumba Gold, walking club.

Health Programs:  Matter of Balance*, Chronic Disease Self-Management*, Diabetes Self- Management*, Arthritis Foundation Tai Chi*, Brain Fitness, Senior Nutrition Program, Tomando*, Medication Education.

Senior Classes at the YMCA

As you age, regular exercise is more important than ever to your overall health. These classes are specifically designed with active older adults in mind to maintain muscular strength, cardiovascular endurance, balance, flexibility, mobility and focus.
